Today starts week 2 of Craftin Desert Diva's Create a Scene Linky Party.  I created a beach scene  using Beach Bound stamp set, Mix It Up Dies and Fancy Frame Dies.

For my card I came across a tutorial on Pinterest showing how to create a beach scene using Copics. So, I course had to try my hand at it.  I still need lots of practice but I had fun trying.  Here is the link to the tutorial, very talented artist!

So without further ado here is my card.....

All of the images are stamped directly on the white stitched panel I cut from Fancy Frame Dies.  I then proceeded coloring my background then colored the images.  I cut the speech bubble and used yellow distress ink to color it then stamped my sentiment and popped it up with fun foam.  I cut the orange pattern paper using the large scallop frame and layered this on top of black cardstock then adhered to an A2 size card.

I hope that this has inspired you to come and play along with us!

It's Irrelephant!

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I am over at the Craftin Desert Diva's Blog sharing a cute birthday card I made using It's All About Zoo, Bring on the Cake and Stitched in Circle Dies.

I just love this cute lil elephant!  I colored him with Copic Markers and popped him up on top of the white stitched circle, which has the sentiment stamped directly on it.  I stamped the numbers from Bring on the Cake and layered them onto a circle, except the first number that is coming out of his snout, which is a teardrop shape.  I cut all of this with my Brother Scan n Cut.  I cut the large black scallop circle and white stitched circle using Stitched in Circle Dies.  The pattern paper is from the Doodle Bug Design's Take Note.  I also used the Gelly Roll White Gel Pen for the highlights in his eyes.

This concludes my post for the day.  Thank you for stopping by!

Steph

Here is what I made..

I kept this card very simple.  I used Sweet Kisses for the cake and hearts, Sending Love for the sentiment and Picture Frame Dies for the mat.  I colored the cake and stand with Copic markers then I mixed texture paste with Festive Berries distress ink and applied that with a toothpick for the 'frosting'.  After it had dried I applied Clear Wink of Stella over the top and on the hearts.  I applied Glossy Accents on the cake stand.  Added Fairy Dust sequins and a ribbon to finish off the card.

I hope this has inspired you to come and join us!

We also have a special priced May Release Bundle that's only available for this weekend only.

Here's what I've created for you...

For my first card I used the Prickly stamp set stamped onto X-press It paper with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink in Antique Linen so that I could do no-line coloring with my Copic markers.  I dry embossed clay colored cardstock with my brick embossing folder from The Paper Studio and cut it down to make it look like steps.  (I of course seen this idea on Pinterest)  I then popped dotted the cactus with fun foam and then stamped the sentiment from This & That stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Clean and Simple (CAS) :)

For my 2nd card  I used Adventure Land and the new Flag Banner Dies.  I started by stamping the small map and anchor on kraft colored cardstock in TH's distress ink in Walnut Stain all over the background.  I then tore and curled the edges then blended distress inks around the edges and kept the lighter colors for the middle.  I then spritzed with water and crinkled the map lightly.  I stamped the Pirate ship onto the same kraft cs with Memento Black Ink and colored with Copic Markers.  I used a Recollections opaque white marker to color the skulls and used a white Gelly Roll pen for the stripes on the flags.  The Father's Day sentiment is from Happy Celebrations  stamp set which was embossed onto the banner cut in black cardstock.

Craftin Desert Diva's May Release Sneak Peeks

Hello Crafty Friends!

This week has been the Sneak Peek for Craftin Desert Diva's May Release.  I made two cards for 3 of the new stamp sets being released, Prickly stamp set, This & That stamp set and Adventure Land stamp set.

I also made my first card making video featuring Prickly and This & That stamp sets.  I was extremely nervous doing the voice over.  I hope I get better with time.

I watercolored the background using Tim Holtz's watercolor paper and distress inks, copic markers to color the cactus and black embossing powder for the sentiment.  For the stitched rectangle mat I used Mix It Up dies and Fairy Dust sequins to finish off my card.  The finished card size is 3 1/4" x 4 1/2".

Here is the video I made showing how I made the card.  You can also click on the link to watch it in YouTube.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OJMiVQmZKo

For my 2nd card I used Adventure Land and This & That stamp sets.  I again used the Mix It Up dies for stitched rectangle mat cut in TH's watercolor paper.  I then used my blending tool to blend TH's distress inks for the background, spritzed with clear water and patted with a paper towel to absorb the drops which picks up the color of the ink.  I then splattered white acrylic paint and Perfect Pearls mixed with water to make the 'stars'.  I colored the images with Copic markers and embossed the sentiment with homemade white glittered embossing powder, which didn't emboss the best but I kinda liked the way it looked so I let it be.  I added Glossy Accents to the window of the rocket ship and Clear Wink of Stella to the red parts on the ship and planet.  As an afterthought I should've added it to the stars too but  I didn't and I don't know why! LOL  I added some white details with my white Gelly Roll pen.  So, without further ado......

Friday the 13th all of release will be available in the CDD shop!  Also, we are having a Blog Hop Friday starting at the CDD blog.  Be sure to join us!!

Thanks for stoppin' by!

Hello friends! The theme for this Linky Party at Craftin Desert Divas is "In the Garden"! We would love to see all of your projects that fit this theme! So go ahead and craft it and link it up on the Craftin Desert Diva's Blog.

Our Sponsors for this Linky Party are:

One Digi Stamp of choice

Here is what I made..

This lil scene came to my mind when I though of In the Garden.  I started by stamping the bunny (Chilly stamp set) the carrot, (Farmer's Market) fence (Build a Scene) and tree (Farm Living) all on Tim Holtz's watercolor paper.  I then masked the fence and stamped the horse (Farm Living) and for the carrot tops I tore a sheet of post it note and just stamped the tops.  I watercolored my scene using Tim Holtz's distress markers by scribbling them onto a craft mat then picking it  up with my wet brush.  I used Fancy Frame Dies to cut out scene and the scalloped mat.

I hope this has inspired you to join us for the In the Garden Linky Party.

Here are all the CDD products I used:
